Fluid Navigation Gestures is a free app that lets you replace your smartphone's standard navigation gestures with a more modern set. And not only does it look better, but it also feels more natural thanks to the new style.

In this case, you can do all the usual stuff like closing apps and interfaces or accessing your home screen, but a simple swipe from either the left or right edge is all it takes. The gesture can be triggered from anywhere on the screen, and you can adjust its sensitivity in the settings.

From the main page, you can customize every aspect of the gestures (you can even assign different system actions to them). The app also has a few other features like displaying an additional menu over your software keyboard or hiding your software navigation keys when typing.

You can use Fluid Navigation Gestures for free on any Android device running 5.1 or higher. However, the app requires root or ADB permissions via your PC in order to work properly. Once you've done that, though, you can start using all the app's functions at will. You can close apps or navigate the interface in a much more fluid manner, and you can even trigger some of your phone's most important shortcuts and widgets with a single gesture. It's all quite impressive, and the app doesn't require any in-app purchases to unlock everything.
